Wye Valley Cider House
Single-orchard cider and juice pressed from heritage Welsh apples.
Three generations of our family have looked after this orchard above the Monnow. We have sixty varieties of cider and dessert apple, some of them, like Frederick and Monmouthshire Beauty, so local you will not see them anywhere else. We pick by hand from late September into November, press on a 1920s rack-and-cloth press in the cider barn, and ferment slowly through the winter in old oak. Nothing is filtered hard, nothing is back-sweetened with concentrate. The juice tastes of the year it was picked, and so does the cider.
